Be The Horses

By Lorraine Faehndrich

Yesterday in my life coach training I had the amazing opportunity to be coached by Martha Beck. The class was about “dreaming and scheming”, the phase in the change cycle when we move from feeling like “What the hell is going on?” to “Wow…look at all the exciting possibilities for my life!”  Part of this phase is looking at your ideal life and creating Wildly Improbable Goals based on your heart’s desires.  I told Martha that I had lots of Wildly Improbable Goals that felt really juicy.

The problem was that as soon as I identified them I felt internal pressure to manifest them NOW…which led to feeling impatient and overwhelmed.  Now, as a long time student of the law of attraction, I know that when I feel impatient my vibe is off and there is no way I can manifest what I want.  I also know that once I line up my vibe, what I desire will show up easily and quickly.  I’ve had it happen many, many times.  But still, here I was with this delicious vision for my life feeling completely overwhelmed by how to make it happen.

One of my Wildly Improbable Goals is to live on enough land that I can have a few horses.  Here’s how Martha coached me.

Martha:  “Be the land and as the land give me 3 adjectives that describe yourself.”

Me (as the land): “Spacious, Open, Connected”

Martha:  “What is your purpose land?”

Me (as the land):  “To provide space for horses.”

Martha:  “How are you here to help Lorraine land?”

Me (as me):  “I have no idea.  I want to be the horses.”

Martha:  “OK.  Be the horses.  Now horses, give me 3 adjectives that describe yourselves.”

Me (as the horses):  “Free,  Joyful,  Spiritual”

Martha:  “Great.  Now horses, what is your message for Lorraine?”

Me (as the horses):  “Lighten up.  You can play where you are!”

Martha:  “Great!  Now Lorraine, give me 3 things that you can do today that feel Free, Joyful, and Spiritual”.

Me:  “Go skating with my daughter, be in this class, and do some reading I’ve been wanting to do.”

Wow.  I’ve known for a long time that looking at why we want what we want is a powerful way to line up with it.  I’ve known that it’s really the feeling we are after in our lives more than the thing we want to manifest.   Yet this was such a powerful experience for me because in becoming the horses I could really FEEL IN MY BODY the vibration that I wanted to have.  And, I know that once I’m in that vibration I can’t keep the thing away.  So, I don’t have to do one thing to bring these horses into my life other than feel as much freedom, joy and spirit in my life NOW as I can.  I don’t have to be patient!  I can have these feelings NOW.  It really is the feeling that brings the thing and not the other way around.  In fact, I think that my longing for horses IS really a longing for more freedom, joy and spirit in my life…it’s not so much about the horses.

I’ve also since realized that the land’s message is to create the spaciousness in my life that will allow freedom, play and spirit to come in (aka, the horses).  And now I have this deep trust that what I want is on it’s way, but it doesn’t even matter because I’ve already got it.

What are your heart’s desires?  Become them now and ask them to describe themselves to you.  Ask them why they are here in your day dreams and what their message is for you.  They will tell you and show you everything you need to know about how to bring them into your life now.

Happy Daydreaming!

Love, Laughter, and Bliss,

Lorraine
